Don't feed the ducks

The Slice of Life campaign has been created by The Federation of Bakers and the Flour Advisory Bureau, to help remind people of the benefits of eating bread and dispel common bread myths. Bread is regularly the first food that is excluded when dieting despite its nutritional benefits, and has been unfairly demonised by fad diets. However, none of the popular slimming clubs advocate cutting out bread altogether and evidence from the National Diet and Nutrition Survey even suggests that people who regularly eat bread, are more likely to have a healthy diet overall [1]. The Slice of Life campaign will be running throughout 2013 and incorporates partnerships with parks, toast giveaways and a celebrity face, bookmark to keep updated with latest campaign news and for handy hints and tips on the health benefits of bread.

Don’t Feed The Ducks

This summer, the Slice of Life campaign is joining forces with London park-keepers to place signs in Clapham Common and Battersea Park, asking the nation to re-think feeding ducks bread and rather to enjoy the bread themselves. The Don’t Feed The Ducks initiative was launched by celebrity cook, busy mum and campaign supporter Lisa Faulkner in April.
